Shipping Methods

Buytile.com ships tiles throughout the United States only. Orders are shipped shortly after they are processed. Buytile.com uses either parcel services or national trucking firms to deliver your tile, depending on the size, weight, and fragility of your order.

 

Shipping Prices

Tiles are very heavy and therefore cost substantial amounts of money to move around the country. Many companies either charge large amounts of money to ship your tile or offer "free shipping", but increase the price of the product to absorb that cost. At buytile.com we don't do either. We select from multiple shipping vendors in order to offer you the best price possible.

To determine your shipping cost, follow these steps:

1. Add the product(s) and the quantity you wish to purchase of them to the shopping cart.

2. Now that you have everything you want in your shopping cart, click the [Proceed To Checkout].

3. Chose the format you’d like to use to checkout.

4. On the shipping page fill in the required information. Then click the [Continue] button. It will take you to the Billing Page.

5. Your Shipping and Handling cost and Order Total will appear in a blue outlined box on the left.

Shipping Promotions

From time to time we may offer shipping promotions, e.g. free shipping for orders over a certain dollar amount. Unless otherwise posted, these promotions apply for shipping to the Lower 48 States, or contiguous United States only.
 

Delivery Timeframes

While we strive to make your shopping experience as simple and painless as possible, we also at the same time, ask that you realize that shipping heavy material such as tile is complex. Therefore it is not uncommon for you to receive your product 2-3 weeks after your order was placed. Every reasonable effort will be made to expedite your delivery and to keep you in the loop at all times.

  • Once your order is placed through our website, it will take 1-3 business days to process. This means that our staff is hard at work securing your product and reserving it for you. You will receive notification via email when your order processes.
  •  After processing, your order can take 2-10 business days to ship.
  • You will receive another notification when your material ships, which will include your freight method and tracking number (if it was sent via parcel service) or your PRO number (if sent by common carrier). If your material ships via common carrier, you will receive the contact details for the freight company. Common carrier ship times vary depending on your location but generally does not exceed 7 business days. For an additional charge, we can arrange for lift-gate service, meaning that the driver will have equipment to lower the cargo onto the ground, but it is your responsibility to move the product into your home or job-site. Please call us to order this service. This is common in tile deliveries even if you were to place your order at the local tile store.
  • Parcel Service orders (UPS & FedEx) generally ship faster, but timing still can vary from 3-5 business days.

Estimated delivery times outside the contiguous 48 states are ordinarily longer but generally are not to exceed two weeks. This is also the case for special order items which can take 4-6 weeks. Delivery Protocols

Your trucking firm will contact you in advance to set up a delivery appointment at which you must be present with a friend or assistant to help you inspect and move your order from the truck. A thorough inspection is required at the time of receipt, and any damaged goods must be noted on the carrier’s waybill and not refused upon delivery.

For an additional charge, we can arrange for lift-gate service, meaning that the driver will have equipment to lower the cargo onto the ground, but it is your responsibility to move the product into your home or job-site. Please call us to order this service .

If your material is shipping parcel service (UPS or FedEx), your material will be left at your doorstep or on your porch, assuming the driver deems it safe. If you ship to a business or a multi-unit dwelling, UPS or FedEx will leave the material with the front desk or doorman. You will receive your tracking number via email and are encouraged to track your order and check for it when it is scheduled to arrive. What are your shipping and handling charges for orders to Canada?

We use UPS and UPS Freight to ship to Canada. Like all other orders, shipping and handling charges depend on the size and weight of your package and your ship-to destination.

International orders are also subject to local import duties and taxes. These fees are not incorporated into your buytile.com order total. Buytile.com is not responsible for any customs related fees that are acquired via shipping to Canada. Be sure to look into these added costs before ordering.

Once your order is placed, there are two methods to pay these fees. 

  1) You can track your order online, via the UPS tracking # given to you when your order leaves our warehouse. When the order has crossed the US/Canadian border you can call UPS International Import/Export Services at 800-782-7892 and pay using a credit card.
OR
  2) When your order is delivered you must be present in-order to sign and provide the UPS delivery person with a check or money order. Credit cards won’t be accepted.

 

How much tax will I be charged on my order?

This chart is meant to be an informative tool. Please don’t use this as your sole resource for looking into duties and tariff costs.

Why can't I ship to the Nunavut, Yukon, or the Northwest Territories?

Unfortunately, UPS does not offer standard package or freight service to these territories.
